General Terms and Conditions for VocVantage
Last updated: 4 April 2026
1. Scope
These General Terms and Conditions apply to use of the mobile app “VocVantage” and the accompanying website at VocVantage.com.
The app is offered through Google Play. Any differing terms of the user do not apply.
2. Provider
3. Subject matter of the contract
VocVantage is a learning app for organising and processing vocabulary and language-related content individually. Its technical features allow users to record, structure and process their own content.
The provider supplies only the technical infrastructure and is neither the content provider nor the publisher of content submitted by users.
4. Formation of the contract and payment model
The usage agreement is concluded by downloading the app and, for paid additional features, by making the relevant in-app purchase through Google Play.
The basic version of the app is free to use. VocVantage also offers optional in-app purchases without a subscription commitment:
- Premium upgrade (one-time purchase / non-consumable): A one-time payment permanently unlocks additional features, including unlimited downloads of all cloud vocabulary packages with more than 100 words, an increased cloud AI quota and exclusive Premium styling.
- AI credit packages (consumable): Optional quotas (e.g. 100 or 500 AI credits) for flexible use of managed cloud AI features beyond the regular allowance.
Future extensions or additional optional features are reserved. There is no entitlement to specific features, further development or updates.
5. Requirements for use
Using the app requires a compatible device and a Google Play account.
The app is intended particularly for school students. Minors may use it only in accordance with legal requirements and with the consent of their legal guardians.
6. User obligations and content
Users are solely responsible for all content they enter into or process with the app.
Users undertake in particular:
- to use only content for which they hold the necessary usage rights and copyrights, or which is free of protected rights,
- not to process unlawful, offensive or otherwise prohibited content,
- not to distribute content that infringes third-party rights.
7. Copyright and third-party rights
The app includes technical mechanisms for users to mark content as protected or unprotected by copyright.
Copyright-protected content may be processed only for private learning purposes. Sharing it with third parties or making it publicly available is prohibited without the relevant rights.
The provider accepts no liability for copyright infringements caused by users.
8. AI features and external services
VocVantage offers optional AI-powered features, particularly for processing users' own content.
These features may use external services such as AI APIs. Use is initiated exclusively by the user.
The scope, availability and usage volume of AI features may vary and may be adjusted, restricted or discontinued at any time, particularly for technical or economic reasons.
There is no entitlement to permanent or unchanged availability of AI features.
9. Availability and further development
The provider endeavours to make the app available with as little interruption as possible, but does not guarantee specific availability or functionality.
Further development, maintenance and expansion of the app depend, among other things, on user feedback and economic factors.
10. Liability
The provider has unlimited liability for intent and gross negligence.
In cases of ordinary negligence, the provider is liable only for breaches of essential contractual obligations and only up to the foreseeable damage typical of the contract.
Liability for lost profits, data loss or indirect damage is excluded to the extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
Users shall indemnify the provider against all third-party claims arising from content submitted or processed by the user, including reasonable legal defence costs.
12. Data protection
Information on the processing of personal data is provided in the separate privacy policy available at Privacy policy .
13. Amendments to the terms
The provider reserves the right to amend these terms where required for objective reasons. Users will be informed appropriately of material changes.
14. Final provisions
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies.
If individual provisions of these terms are or become invalid, the remaining provisions remain effective.
